Church leaders wished to correct mechanical, electrical and structural problems while enhancing the historic architecture of the 19th century church’s main sanctuary and chapel.
Olicon replaced an intrusive hodge-podge of elements with details that match the original design features; provided permanent foundation support without damaging the superstructure or finishes; replaced much of the electrical wiring and improved the lighting while maintaining the historic integrity of the fixtures; replaced the asphalt shingle roof with recycled slate at a low cost to provide a roof that is true to the period while avoiding the fire hazard that would have resulted from replicating the original wood shingle roof; and painted the ceiling and refinished the flooring and pews to return the finishes to their original quality.
